Happy Birthday Lilly!

Well today is Lilly's 6th birthday. There are mixed emotions of happiness for her special day, but disappointment in not being able to have her here with us to celebrate it together!

So many questions:
* What kind of cake would she want if she were here?
* What are birthdays like for orphans in China?
* What is her favorite color?
* What would the girls want to get her or do for her?
* WHEN WILL WE BE ABLE TO GO GET HER??????


BTW- it doesn't help that I am watching Adoption Stories right now about a couple adopting twin girls from Korea! :)

What's a mom to do?

Okay, some will be jealous and some will be sad when I disclose the following information: I have been alone for the last 3 1/2 days! That's right, no kids and no hubby! Dad took the girls to grandma's, church camp and then stayed in the area to work a while. I will be meeting up with him shortly.
I have survived, but it is getting lonely now and I am ready to see everyone!
So, you ask, "What does one do with all of that free time?"
At first, I only planned to stay in bed and read, but after a couple of hours on the computer, I decided it was time to be productive......

Things marked off of my "To Do" list are:
* rearrange girls rooms and to make room for Lilly (I even took down and set up the daybed)
* clean out closets
* set up Play Room
* Clean, Clean, Clean
* Make and freeze casseroles
* weed garden and flower bed
* haircut
* pedicure
* wash sheep and goats
* Shop (shhhh!)
I wish I had taken before pics, but the following are after pics of the girls' rooms. I have to boast and say that I am pretty happy with how they turned out.






What a week, but I am ready for my girls to be home!

We are already teasing Haley with names like "Brace Face" "Metal Mouth" and "Tin Grin". She really thinks the braces are pretty cool, not real sure how long that will take to wear off though.

Lamb and Goat Show

I am happy to report that we survived our first lamb and goat show of the season. I know that this may seem strange, I forget not everyone grew up being in 4-H and having the great privilege of living in rural America. I was able to show lambs and heifers through 4-H and FFA and my hubby was able to show pigs for a couple of years. Therefore, we have been anxious to continue the tradition with our kids. I mean we do give them the "choice" to do it or not, but isn't it funny how if you talk about something from the time they are born that they want to do the same things as their parents.... I know things may change later as they begin to forget just how COOL their parents are, but for now we are happy!
