As we began our trip yesterday I mistakenenly commented to Diane that the "journey" had started. She quickly corrected my terminology and reminded me that the journey had started long ago, this was just the trip. I stand corrected.
When we started our trip yesterday morning in the predawn hours of the Texas Panhandle flying east to Dallas/Ft Worth, watching the dawn of the new day blossom over the fast approaching horizon - I couln't help but think that, well that is our life, and it is in the fast lane right now. We think we are in control of so much around us, when in fact, the sun will come up tomorrow and we can only watch in awe. Luckily for us we are not in control of the important stuff. We will do our best to make sure this adoption process runs smoothly, but all we can do about the really important stuff is accept, give thanks, and do our best to take care of it. The Spirit of adoption is within us, as Lilly becomes part of our family, we ask for your pr*yers, for us, for her and for the entire network of friends and family that will be part of her life as the new dawn approaches.
By the way Diane did amazingly well yesterday, after 28 hours of travel she looked great and never did start growling.
