Wow - What a Day

Well GOTCHA DAY has come and gone. Lilly is ours in spirit and body now. 3 hour flight to Kunming, guide sick, back up guide stuck in traffic, driver found us though. Adventurous ride back to hotel, check in, exchange money (which is a whole different story), another taxi adventure to civil affairs office, meet Wu Xi Feng aka Lilly Mei, fill out paper work and then hiccups. We asked our guide if we needed to exchange the adoption fee for Chinese Yuan and she said yes, so we did - but wish we didn't because later we needed that money in USD and the other fees in Yuan, so we spent the entire rest of the afternoon with the guide, orphanage assistant, orphanage business manager and Lilly prolonging the eventual seperation - near misery. But when we did finally make the seperation it was rough for about the next 30 minutes, but a quick walk to the park and a buffet dinner Diane and Lilly were getting to be pretty big buddies. She may take a little while to warm up to Dad, but that is okay we will get there eventually. We are excited and exhausted so this will have to do until later. Lilly is one happy, free spirited, stubborn, very bright, beatiful little girl and we cannot wait to introduce her to everyone.
