Patience is a Virtue

After waking up yesterday at 4:00 am we stayed very busy visiting Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Imperial Garden, and shopping at the state run pearl and silk stores. Everything we saw was steeped in history and crowded. Now when I say crowded, I don't mean there was quite a few other people, more like stepping in the middle of a mound of fireants and watching the ground come alive crowded.
The food has been interesting, breakfast pretty good - hard to screw up an egg, after that, it has been more of an adventure. Apparently beef, chicken and pork mean different things when translated from Mandarin to English, because I am fairly certain some of the aforementioned labeled products had no actual content of that ingredient for lunch and supper.

I just had to comment on your blog. I'm a mom to a 4 yr old daughter from China and a 14 month old biological daughter. I'm praying for you as you leave your girls and follow your heart to China. There is so much fun in store for you! I'm re-living our journey again....Blessings to you and your family as you travel! The Paces

Just to remind you of home -- the Aggies got totally STOMPED by OU (66-28). The only thing that would have made the defeat better would be watching it and mourning with the Thurmans! Tech is beating OSU 34-14 right now. So be glad you're out of the country. :)

You're in our thoughts and prayers. Looks like everything's going well.

I love seeing you in the "square"! wasn't it amazing to walk through that awesome place....soooo old too! Hello to Sherry and Linacker! Please tell me about the shopping you did, I am so curious. Can't go wrong with steamed rice.
Today, unprompted, Laine and Leah sat and prayed for Lily, I pretended not to hear them. Leah said she wanted Lily to be her friend, Laine said she wanted Lily to like her new family. I think both will be answered!
I need more pictures!!!!!!Just think you will be meeting her soon.
PS ignore the Aunt Yvonne , not sure how to change that...also too lazy to work too hard to try.

Macey had a very long day yesterday....a very, very, very long day! We drug her around to cheer practice, the baseketball game, and then to the exhibition. This was all after having a sleepless sleepover at Jalee's. Bless her heart. She's a trooper. We didn't get her back to your house until 6:45. The highlight of her day was hearing your message you left for her on my cell. Met Jay's mom. She's a sweetie. All is well here. We think of you daily, and pray for you often. Can't wait to meet Lilly and see you guys back in the neighborhood! Be safe and have fun!

Em got to help out with Krissy's practice. We did manage to fit in a shower finally! Tomorrow is your big day. We will keep your family in our prayers. We are excited for you all!
